The 2024 flu season runs from Monday 29th April.
1. Please complete your ILI survey each week. You can update your survey multiple times within a week if your symptoms change - please use the most recent link you have been sent to complete the survey.
2. The WellKiwis team will review the survey responses and may contact you to discuss your illness.
3. During this discussion, you may be asked if you are willing to do a self-swab.
Please only do a self-swab if you have been asked to by the WellKiwis team.
4. If you have done a self-swab and test positive for influenza or COVID-19, we will call or text you to let you know (usually within 72 hours). Results for other respiratory viruses may take up to two weeks and will be reported via email.
5. If your swab is positive for influenza, we will contact you to arrange collection of two blood samples, the first within two weeks of the positive result, and the second 3-6 weeks after the positive result.
